Nelson Abreu

Thomas Orr Anderson (MS Physics) is a musician, physicist, inventor, and sound therapist engaged in a lifelong exploration of sound, rhythm, movement, science and meditation.  He has studied Qi Gong, Reiki, acupressure, and herbal medicine, and traveled the world studying, teaching, performing and exploring the intersection of music, physics and consciousness. He is currently making a documentary about his current apprenticeship with Yaqui medicine man, Tata Kachora, on whom the character Don Juan was based in the Castaneda novels. He performs at music festivals as Sirius Colors and is the founder of He is a member of the International Consciousness Research Laboratories (ICRL) consortium, contributer to its anthology entitled Filters and Reflections and has presented at the Society for Scientific Exploration.


Nélson Abreu (BS Electrical Engineering) is vice-director of Research and Scientific Communication at International Academy of Consciousness (IAC). He began experiencing and studying multidimensional consciousness in 1998 while at Nova High School where he co-founded the Conscientiology Club, a precursor to University of Florida’s Science of Self Club, which organized a number of symposia and the first curricular psychology course on consciousness featuring the consciential paradigm. He has presented at U. of Arizona, Utah Valley State College, U. of Miami, Florida International U, Miami-Dade College, U. of Florida, Penn State, California, Tennessee, Texas, Canada, Mexico and Portugal. He has served as Student Representative for Society for Scientific Exploration and is a member of the ICRL consortium where he contributed to the Filters and Reflections anthology.  His studies have encompassed consciousness and biological evolution, consciousness and physics/engineering, out-of-body experience, bioenergy and psychometry.

Acoustic Vibrostasiogenic Systems: VELO Training and Vibrational State Induction Technology

The authors of this work posit that acoustics can be applied in technology that aims to facilitate the vibrational state and out-of-body experience and serve as a training aide for the Voluntary Energetic Longitudital Oscillation (VELO) technique.  This presentation summarizes design, experimental, and theoretical aspects of the system in question, including its relationship to vibroacoustics and vibrostasiology, and the results of a pilot (n=12).  Inspired by the collaboration on this project, the authors also present analogies and technical speculation to motivate the field to arrive at a more profound definition on the nature of bioenergy and the consciousness itself.


Los autores de este trabajo proponen que la acústica puede ser aplicada en una tecnología con el objetivo de facilitar el estado vibracional y la experiencia fuera del cuerpo, y que además sirve como una ayuda en el entrenamiento de la técnica de la Oscilación Longitudinal Voluntaria de Energías (OLVE). Este artículo resume el diseño y los aspectos experimentales y teóricos del sistema en cuestión, incluyendo su relación con la vibroacústica y la vibroestasiología y los resultados del proyecto piloto (n=12). Inspirados por la colaboración en este proyecto, los autores también presentan analogías y especulaciones técnicas para estimular este campo que permita llegar a una definición más profunda sobre la naturaleza de la bioenergía y de la conciencia misma.


Os autores argumentarão que a acústica pode ser aplicada em tecnologias que visam facilitar o estado vibracional e a experiência fora-do-corpo, e que serve como uma ferramenta auxiliar do treinamento da técnica da Oscilação Longitudital Voluntária de Enenrgia (OLVE). Esta apresentação fará um resumo sobre o design e os aspectos experimentais e teóricos do sistema em questão, incluindo sua relação com a vibroacústica e a vibrostasiologia, e sobre os resultados de um projeto piloto (n= 12). Inspirados pela colaboração neste projeto, os autores também apresentarão analogias e especulaçoes técnicas para motivar os pesquisadores da área a chegar a uma definição mais profunda sobre a natureza da bioenergia e da própria consciência.
